Wow! That's what comes to mind when a read about all the ideas that are being worked on! I really enjoyed reading about all the inventions from 2015! There were some that were just absolutely crazy and I could hardly believe they were real! For example, the connected clothes, being able to press a button on your shoulder pad to translate a conversation! What!? That's just crazy!
In the classroom, I can see that there would be many advantages to having access to technology. I believe one of the most useful tools in the classroom would be the smart board. In wanting to become a math teacher, I have observed my math teachers using smart boards and noticed the advantages. As a teacher there is so much that you can do with it and I also believe that the students enjoy using the technology. I know when I was in high school it was always exciting to get to go up to the smart board and work out a problem. I believe that technology encourages student involvement.
After reading the articles, it seems that the possibilities are endless! I am super excited as we start this class to learn more about all the ways to use different technologies in the classroom! I hope that I learn many things that will be helpful so that I can really engage the students that I teach!
The use of the smart board will be great. One of the surveys showed that the use of technology increased student motivation and this is a great example of that. It is much more exciting then using just the white board. I think that when dealing the young students they would be even more in awe of being able write on the smart board as it would seem magical to them.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in high school, the most advanced technology in my math class was the calculator and overhead projector. My school didn't even have computers. Back then I never even imagined that my children would one day experience a whiteboard that is interactive. That just shows how far we've come in the past two decades. Imagine what lies ahead. It's pretty exciting but at the same time it's a little bit scary too.
ReplyDeleteAs we all boost how wonderful technology is in our life, we also start pondering the relationship between human and technology use. Think about this term- "technology dependency"...scientists start studying this phenomena!! How can technology tools be employed properly and efficiently and how teachers' role to incorporate technology will be the aspects that we need to take into account.
